DuraTi - is a revolutionary new material product family centered around Solidica's unique Titanium Aluminide laminate material (TiAl3). Developed in part for extreme impact resistance and toughness, DuraTi is a lightweight alternative to conventional Ti-6Al-4V and Ceramic-composite materials with over 25% weight savings over Steel RHA. With a specific modulus of 2.5x other leading metal offerings, DuraTi provides designers with a unique metal system with ceramic-like properties and metallic welding and cutting flexibilities.
DuraTi is also a highly engineerable material system that can be customized to meet a wide variety of armor or impact related applications. By adjusting the DuraTi layer thickness and reaction cycles, Solidica is able to formulate the first metal-based Graduated Modulus Energy Absorbing Material (GMEAM). The currently available DuraTi products are as follows (additional product information only available upon direct request).
